It's Been A While

Anti-Mag Newsletter
July 21, 2008

Greetings:

As you will see, there are a lot of new and exciting people here for you to meet! There's also a new section here for you to check out featuring Daniela Chunga's reviews of her musical experiences. She will be reporting on her very frequent musical endeavors in and around the city. I would also like to announce that on September 10th, Anti-Mag along with Runaround Sue's Bleeding Heart Burlesque, will be hosting a benefit Happy Hour. It will be held at the very cool M1-5 and will be featuring artwork by Lindsey Bourque, Bonnie Voyage, Holly Van Voast and Jon Reiss. Of course RunAround Sue and her girls will be entertaining the masses and all this to benefit the AIDG organization. I hope to see you all there! Stay tuned for more details on the event.

Last month's Thirst Fursday was a riveting success, I met some more talented individuals which is the whole point of the Happy Hour to begin with. Check out my weekly rantings on Season 5 of Project Runway. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

I want to thank all those people who have made mention of their features on their websites and MySpace pages.

It means a lot to be appreciated for hard work.

I would also like to thank James Nagy for making the first ever donation to Anti-Mag. It was very kind of him and I will use that money to eat.

For all those who are interested in having your events annouced, feel free to contact me.

I'm incredibly pleased with the upcoming features for Anti-Mag. Come have a look at these notable individuals.

Lovable February!

February 1, 2008
HOLA!

Well I do hope everyone is having an eventful new year. I will be celebrating the Year of the Rat. What exactly does that mean? Well the Chinese new year is on February 7th and although I'm not a Rat it is going to be a good year for us all.

A Rat Year is a time of hard work, activity, and renewal. This is a good year to begin a new job, get married, launch a product or make a fresh start. Ventures begun now may not yield fast returns, but opportunities will come for people who are well prepared and resourceful. The best way for you to succeed is to be patient, let things develop slowly, and make the most of every opening you can find. People born in an Earth Rat are said to be logical realists, shrewd, charming, ambitious, and inventive.

We are very close to confirming a date for the Anti-Mag/Sugar Shack showcase. As of yet it has been confirmed that artist Matt Siren will be showing and band What What Where will be performing.
More artists will be confirmed and I'm still going full steam ahead on the actual event. More to come....

I'm looking for freelance writers. If anyone out there wants to maybe have their own column, please feel free to contact me with writing samples. It is not a paying gig, as I've said before, I wish I could pay myself! You can email me at: Jo_Ann@anti-mag.com

I want to let any bands interested in having someone do their press photography, album art, banners, etc., that my good friend, Joel Decatur, is available. He takes amazing photos and also does incredible graphic work. His company is called The Elegant Elephant and if you would like further information you can contact him at: joeldecatur@hotmail.com
